The weird ways Kmart fans are ALREADY decorating their homes for Christmas

Kmart fans are decorating their homes for Christmas already with wreaths made out of pool noodles, trees set on living room walls and yoga balls painted as giant baubles.

The crafty displays have been shared on a number of Kmart-devoted Facebook groups to help Australians save money on their end of year celebrations.

Many of the projects cost less than $20 to make, and even though it’s only mid-November, no time is being wasted assembling the colourful exhibits.

POOL NOODLE WREATHS

These bright circles made out of baubles and a trusty flotation device are a must for any front door.

We may not get down to the same frosty temperatures typical wreaths in the northern hemisphere will see, but nonetheless they are a welcome traditional piece of decor.

To make them you only need to bend the noodle in half until both ends are touching and tape them together.

For a larger design purchase two pool noodles and join them together with masking tape.

Another variant you can try is a ‘noodle centrepiece’, which involves cutting the noodle in half and placing baubles on the top of it.

If you would like lights on it you can hide the switch underneath the curved spine of the pool noodle.

CHRISTMAS TREES ON WALLS

For those who suffer from a general lack of space in their home, try creating a Christmas tree that hides on your living room wall.

You can use your old standing tree, or purchase a new one, and carefully stick the branches to your wall, decorating it with baubles and lights.

Many of the Kmart lovers were using decorating clips from Spotlight or hardware shops to keep the branches in place.

If you have toddlers or climbing kittens it’s an excellent alternative to having a standing tree in your living area.

YOGA BALLS AS GIANT BAUBLES

One very enthusiastic mother took to a Kmart devoted page to talk about how yoga balls can be turned into a Christmas ornament.

‘I’ve spent the last 3 weeks working on these super sized outside baubles but they are finally finished,’ she wrote.

Purchasing three $7.50 balls, monochromatic rope and acrylic paint, she coated the balls in festive colours.

‘The gold tops are metal bowls that I have liquid nails on. I used superglue for the rope and I have attached a funnel (like petrol funnel to the bottom so they can’t blow around in the wind),’ she said.
