Queen Maxima arrives for the India-Netherlands Technology Summit

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived for the opening of the India-Netherlands Technology Summit on her second official day of her five-day state visit to India.

The stylish royal, 48, who was accompanied by her husband King Willem-Alexander, 52, looked radiant as she made her way into the JW Marriott Hotel in New Delhi for the 25th edition of the high-profile event on Tuesday. 

Maxima displayed her sartorial prowess in a silk peach dress that featured a ruffled cinched waist as she met with leaders in the science and technology industry. 

The queen teamed her stylish garment with an eye-catching orange hat, festooned with blue, pink and orange feathers.

She accessorised her glamorous look with a pair of gold earrings, which were adorned with colourful gems, and a statement ring on her finger. 

Sweeping her blond locks back into a loose ponytail, the monarch completed her look with a brown clutch bag by her side and a pair of matching brown heels.  

The mother-of-three daughters, Catharina-Amalia, 14, Alexia, 12, and Ariane, 10, appeared in high spirits as she made her way through the building and spoke with researchers trying to tackle solutions for global challenges.

Accompanying his wife for the occasion was husband Willem-Alexander, who became king after his mother, Beatrix, abdicated in April 2013. 

The king, who later made a speech in front of Indian leaders, looked smart in a white shirt and yellow tie underneath a slick blue suit as he met with Indian leaders before joining his wife for a group photo. 

The event, which is now in its 25th year and was oragnised by the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII),  saw around 140 businesses from various sectors including agriculture, water, health care and climate change come together in an effort to form partnerships and joint business ventures between the Netherlands and India.  

Maxima’s appearance comes a day after she met with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a welcome ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. 

The queen and her husband, who landed in India on Sunday evening, joined the Indian leader to visit the open-air memorial of the Indian civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi in Raj Ghat.

Also present at momentous occasion was the Indian president Ram Nath Kovind and his wife Savita Kovind. 

Later during the day, the royal couple enjoyed a lavish state banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Palace in the Indian capital. 

The royal visit, which marks King Willem-Alexander’s first Indian state visit since his ascension to the throne in 2013, will also see the couple visit the ‘Indo-Dutch interactions in the time of Rembrandt’ exhibition at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum in Mumbai. 

They are also expected to visit the coastal state of Kerala which is known for its palm-lined beaches and exotic wildlife.
