Nurse Tara Jayne reveals she spent $200,000 on transforming her look to become a ‘real-life’ Barbie

A cosmetic nurse has detailed how she spent close to $200,000 on procedures to transform her look and become a ‘real-life’ Barbie doll.

Tara Jayne, from Melbourne, has had countless surgeries including six nose jobs, five breast augmentations and a seemingly endless amount of Botox and fillers.

The 31-year-old explained how plastic surgery was a way for her to ‘express beauty’ and provided a ‘sense of empowerment’, but admitted it’s an ‘expensive hobby’.

‘I think in this day and age, it’s very important for a woman to be able to express the way they feel and just express everything about beauty,’ she told The Morning Show.

‘Plastic surgery is how I do that and that’s what makes me happy. It gives me the confidence to be the best version of myself.’

Tara has since become internationally recognised for her unique look and has attracted a social media following of more than 96,000 people.

Although Tara has received some backlash on social media, she feels happier with how she looks and says the surgeries have boosted her self-esteem.

But as Botox and filler is only temporary, Tara needs to return to the doctor every few months in order to maintain the plump-lip look.

‘It’s quite easy to spend $2,000 to $5,000 at a time; it’s a pretty expensive hobby,’ she said.

In one year, she’s estimated to get lip injections up to 30 times.

To fund her ongoing procedures and lifestyle, Tara said she has been privileged to receive support from sponsors and her family.

Over the next four to six months, Tara is aiming continue having surgeries with the next being custom-made breast implants to increase her breast size from 1000cc to 1500cc.

Tara said she is also likely going to partake in television shows overseas and aims to continue growing her online social media following.

‘This is how I express myself and this is what I’m happy doing, and ultimately in life you have to be happy,’ she added.
