Posting the video online, Alex wrote: ‘Two weeks without sleep, then along came Ewan.’

She also explained she had been increasingly concerned about her baby’s cries after trying other methods to try to help him sleep.

She commented: ‘I tried white noise on YouTube and Spotify and it didn’t work so I was a bit worried about buying this, but it really worked.’

During the clip, she could be seen filming her son as he cried and screamed from within his crib while she put him down for a sleep.

She then placed the £30 Ewan Sheep toy, which replicates the womb by playing soothing sounds, including actual recordings of the womb and heartbeat, into the crib.

The baby’s screams lessened, before he quickly quietened down completely.

Alex later revealed the incredible clip had captured ‘the first time she had used’ the toy with her son.

Meanwhile she explained the toy would stay on for a total of 20 minutes, adding: ‘There’s a setting once it goes off, if the baby makes a noise through the night, it automatically comes back on for another 20 minutes.’

Other parents were wowed by the clip, with many users calling the fluffy toy 'a lifesaver' and 'magic'
