A French influencer has claimed that she was uninvited from a wellness press trip, after posting a photo on social media with her ‘curvy’ friend.
Louise Aubery, 21, from Paris, who has over 200,000 followers on Instagram, says she was invited to a press trip by the tourism office of La Charente Maritime in early May.
She says the organisation changed their decision on including her in the promotional activity, after spotting a recent post on her account that she thinks doesn’t ‘align with their values’.
Louise believes a body positivity post with her ‘curvy’ friend Pauline, who has nearly 50,000 followers, triggered the tourism office’s decision.

The french tourism office sent Louise an email revealing that they hope to collaborate in the future but will no longer require her to attend the press trip
Sharing a picture of the email Louise says she received from the company, it reads: ‘Thank you for your email. Following the recent picture on your Instagram account, our client would like to cancel your participation to this journey.
‘I am sorry and hope we’ll be able to collaborate in the future’.
Speaking to Insider, Louise revealed that many wellness companies in France avoid being associated with ‘plus-size’ people.
She said: ‘I questioned myself, I felt a bit sad and responsible for it, and at first I did not see what they were talking about.
‘It had to be because of my friend’s shape, and the fact that the client did not want to be associated with it.
‘I realized that unfortunately for them, and for many companies in France, ‘plus-size’ cannot be associated with ‘wellness.
As a result of how Louise was treated, many other influencers who had been invited, boycotted the trip in solidarity.
The trip was cancelled and Louise has since co-founded the movement #OnVeutDuVrai.

Louise shared the encounter with her followers in a candid clip on her Instagram story, before posting a lengthy picture caption urging others to continue celebrating diversity.
She wrote: ‘For those of you who don’t know, I’ve kindly been uninvited of a blog trip because of my recent posts – aka the post I did two days ago with a curvy friend of mine.
‘Because brands today don’t want to show diversity. They want polished, they want smoothed, they want edited.
‘Well sorry, but I ain’t gonna do that. I don’t see what’s more important than helping people feeling good in their own skin.
‘And this goes through showing REALNESS. And diversity is real. And awesome. So let’s celebrate it instead of bashing it #stopbodyshaming’.

Louise received a stream of support across her social media platform, with many praising her for maintaining her integrity.
One person said: ‘…Extremely shocked, angry and disgusted with what happened to you!!! It is clear how much pressure there is on women!
‘As soon as we show truth without fear and that it does not coincide with what they say ‘perfect physics’ they punished because it hurts and we try to break according to them the image of the ‘real woman’ and the industries that ‘harass’ us plainly with body shaming!
‘No Louise you are not alone, let’s continue the fight together -you’ve changed thousands of lives’
Another wrote: ‘That’s insane that they uninvited you for celebrating all bodies. It’s their loss anyways’
A third added: ‘Your posts are bold and refreshing. Never quit. You help so many people embrace their authentic selves. If a brand or company doesn’t appreciate that, then it’s their loss…’
