Dame Shirley Bassey admits she binges on ice cream mixed with CAVIAR on weekends

Dame Shirley Bassey has revealed she spends her weekends indulging in ice cream and caviar after eating healthy food all week. 

The legendary singer, 83, says she ‘doesn’t have diet secrets’ and simply tries her best to eat well during the week so she can ‘go mad’ and treat herself on the weekend with her favourite treats. 

In an interview with The Sunday Mirror, she told how a trainer visits her Monaco apartment regularly and that she often spoils herself with facials and body massages which are ‘worth all the money’.

‘I don’t have diet secrets,’ she said. ‘I just watch what I eat. At weekends I go mad… ice cream, caviar with lots of cream. 

‘I have a lot of facials and a lot of body massages. And it’s working. It is worth all the money.’ 

Dame Shirley described herself as a ‘gym fanatic’, with a personal trainer visiting her Monaco home three times a week. 

The Welsh singer was born in Cardiff’s Tiger Bay and grew up in Splott, but now resides in glamorous Monaco.

The iconic musician recalled how, while spending the Spring lockdown on the microstate, she would walk around her swimming pool 12 times a day to try to stay fit. 

She also revealed she would practise singing the last line of her famous Bond theme Goldfinger for 20 seconds while washing the dishes.   

Dame Shirley recently released I Owe It All To You and said the album, which has been dubbed her grand finale, is ‘a celebration of 70 years in showbiz, 70 years of support from my fans, and 70 years of music’, and will include songs that are ‘very personal’ to her.

The legendary singer was snapped last month promoting her new record as she posed in a shimmering gold gown complete with a matching gold sequinned face mask.

She started singing as a teenager in her native Wales, performing in clubs and working in a factory before becoming the first Welsh singer to have a number one single in 1959 with As I Love You from the album The Bewitching Miss Bassey.

During her stellar career, she has sold nearly 140 million records and provided the theme songs for three James Bond films: Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker. She was made a dame in 2000.
