‘When you live in a one bedroom unit and don’t have room for a tree,’ she wrote in a Facebook group.

Hundreds of people were amazed with her creation, with many describing it as ‘classy’, ‘gorgeous’ and ‘beautiful’.

‘It is fantastic! So many people wouldn’t bother putting up any decorations but it just makes you feel good and it just looks amazing,’ one wrote.

One said: ‘Wish I thought of this when I was in my one bedroom unit! Great job,’ while another added: ‘So beautiful. Love this heaps. I have a holiday place that’s small, but this would be perfect. Great job.’

The mum was proud of her eye catching attempt at a minimalist design – which she posted online to help others battling with limited room for a three-dimensional tree.

‘I have a tiny place and can’t sacrifice the floor space for six weeks so this year I attempted a corner wall hanging tree. And I love it,’ she said.

‘It takes up no space.’

She explained that she is assisted by the fact she has very high ceilings. And warned others wanting to make a similar tree not to string the lights or tinsel too tight.

‘I had to remove my first attempt and hang the lights and the tinsel looser.’
