Shoppers are going wild over a new variety of chocolate on offer by budget supermarket chain Aldi.
The retailer’s Choceur brand recently released a salted pretzel chocolate block – and it’s sending Australian chocolate fans into a frenzy.
The sweet treat, on offer as a limited edition, is available for $2.69 for a 200g bar, and given reactions on social media it’s set to fly off the shelves.
A Facebook post shared by Aldi Australia just days ago revealing the new chocolate was in stock already has over four thousand reactions and as many comments, including one from a person declaring ‘it was better than sex’.

Aldi Australia has just released a new type of chocolate – a variety that comes with salted pretzels

If social media reactions are anything to go by, the Special Edition Choceur Salted Pretzel chocolate, priced at $2.69, is set to fly off Aldi’s shelves

A chocolate fan revealed they’d tried the new flavour and had ‘unintentionally’ eaten the whole block
One person wrote on the post how they’d bought a block of the chocolate to share with their family, but to their surprise, they’d eaten the whole thing themselves.
‘I bought it for my kids to try and I ate the whole block. I have never eaten a whole block of chocolate!’
Another added: ‘This is well worth it! Great value and it’s delicious! I may have already gone through four blocks… maybe shared, maybe not.’
‘I hid mine under my lounge cushion so I didn’t have to share,’ said a third.

Another said not only is it delicious and great value but they ‘may have already gone through four blocks’

One person said they didn’t want to share and had opted to hide theirs under lounge cushions
Others who’d tried the Special Edition Choceur Salted Pretzel chocolate and left reviews on Instagram also said the decadent indulgence lived up to the hype.
‘I thought it was delicious – Aldi chocolate is great quality (super creamy) and the pretzels added the perfect amount of salt and texture,’ wrote one person.
‘Not sure how long this will be around so stock up.’

Those who’ve tried the sweet treat say it’s ‘super delicious’ and advise heading to their local Aldi smartly to purchase a block
Another, posting under the name Smart Mum, said the chocolate not only tasted ‘so good’ they were incredible impressed with the $2.69 price tag.
‘Super delicious I’ll definitely buy it again. So glad hubby doesn’t like chocolate so I don’t have to share with him lol.’
It is understood the chocolate will be available at Aldi stores until the end of the year, however, as it was a limited edition, still would be while stocks last.
