Jumbo Stay – a converted plane

Welcome aboard the world’s first Boeing 747 jumbo jet hostel. Jumbo Stay offers 29 comfortable rooms with single, two and three-bed rooms or two and four-bed dormitories. 

Each are approximately six square meters in size and measure nearly four meters from floor to ceiling, and feature a flat screen TV. 

The upper deck even boasts an exclusive Cockpit suite with private shower and toilet, while the converted plane is staffed 24 hours and sells food, light snacks and beverages at their Jumbo Bar & Restaurant.

Welcome to Barabas Luzern, Switzerland’s first jailhouse hostel. The Barabas has 60 prison cell rooms available for those looking for an extraordinary travel experience.  

It features multibed rooms with a shared bathroom; but also single, double and family rooms with a private bathroom. The library, offering a large amount of crime novels, is also bookable as a bedroom.

The extensive renovation has made the space comfortable and welcoming, while keeping the history of the building very much alive.

The Red Boat – a converted 100-year-old boat

The Red Boat Mälaren is a cozy river side hostel aboard two lovely boats in the heart of Stockholm, right on the doorstep of everything there is to do. 

Watch boats passing through the lock, take a stroll down the small alleys in the historical Old Town or drink beer in one of several pubs on Södermalm – there’s plenty nearby to make the most of your trip.
