Natural home remedies for the treatment of indigestion. Eat regular well-spaced meals. Eat only when you are hungry, and eat a little less than what you feel like having. Limit your fluid intake when you have solid food. Do not eat fast, but chew your food thoroughly in a relaxed manner. You don't have a train to catch, and neither is food going out of fashion. Eat plenty of greens and whole grain carbohydrates, restrict the intake of refined carbohydrates like maida and white flour, and also spices and fried food. Eat the right combination of foods. If milk causes indigestion, you may have lactose intolerance. Avoid milk and milk products. If you do not have lactose intolerance or milk allergy, and it is only an infrequent problem, have a tablespoon of lime juice with a little water. Sipping hot water relieves the feeling of fullness and indigestion. Make a decoction of half a teaspoon each of cloves and black pepper seeds, a tablespoon of cummin seeds, one-fourth of a teaspoon of turmeric, and half a teaspoon of rock salt, coarsely pounded, in a litre of water. Boil it down to half a litre, filter and keep aside to cool. Take two tablespoons of this mixture 3-4 times a day. It can be kept in a refrigerator for 2-3 days, but do not have it cold-have it at room temperature. Half a cup of fresh pineapple or pomegranate juice is a good digestive. Mint or fennel leaves can be used to make herbal teas or infusions. These are very 'cooling' for the stomach Take a tablespoon of holy basil juice, a teaspoon of dried ginger powder, and twice the amount of jaggery. Mix the three ingredients well and take half a teaspoon twice a day with warm water. This helps digestion and regulates the appetite.

Treatment of indigestion depends on the foods caused indigestion. For example, if indigestion occurred by eating coconut or fruits of the palm tree, it can easily solved by eating bowl of plain rice.

The main indigestion cause is eating too quickly, without chewing food properly. When we eat too fast the body or stomach - to be precise - doesn't know what has hit it, it'll find it difficult to start breaking down the food if it is overworked. The not chewing food properly part is related because people who tend to eat quickly very rarely chew their food adequetly enough for efficient digestion to take place. Therefore the food takes too long to embark on its natural journey. In addition leaving long gaps betweem meal times can bring about the problem too, as the stomach acid has more time build up momentum (this is due to the fact that food quells the acid). Other factors which can induce indigestion include smoking and drinking too much, eating very large meals, drugs, stress, pregnancy, peptic ulcers, anti-imflammatory medication and conditions effection the function of the digestive organs.

# Drink mint essence (available as Pudin hara or Amritdhara in India. These are mint or peppermint essence.), 3-4 drops in water, every one hour. Also drink jaljeera (a mixture of cumin, salt, asafetida, and other herbs) 2-3 times. Let the poison get out of your body through vomiting or motions. First you will throw poisonous foods and then water (Drink lot of water with sugar/salt). You should be alright in less than 24 hours. Start this treatment as soon as you start getting sour burps. You may drink mint essence (3-4 drops in water) after you eat in a restaurant or party or you have overeaten.
The authors of this web site have used this treatment for this type of condition many times with 100% success. It should cure your condition. # Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice or cider vinegar in a cup of hot water before a meal to prevent acid indigestion. # Add three drops of garlic oil to an half a cup of soya oil and rub onto the stomach after food. # Drink a herbal tea of mint, raspberry, camomile and blackberry. # Drink one cup of ginger tea after meals to promote a good digestion and for heartburn, nausea, etc.
